AR Design Catted Downpipe - Does anyone have this?
AR Design makes some good stuff and I noticed this seemed to be a pretty good deal. Does anyone have any experience with catted downpipes from AR design? I can't seem to find many reviews on them.

x-ph has it for $650 and you can get a 5% coupon available online which makes it $620 shipped. Compared to other downpipes (that aren't VRSF), that's a pretty good deal. AR Design is made in America and is supposedly made very well.
I guess, I'll find out how they are. |

Its one of the more popular downpipe that we offer, built in the US. AR Design quality is second to none

Well, I ordered it. Question, is the stock picture most vendors (including you) have up the correct one? The picture has a flex pipe and is fairly narrow. I'm assuming the catted one is a bit thicker.

I'm just wondering how ar provides 35-40 km without tuning when mad provides 30 on the map, but I think I'll go mad anyway because it's cheaper, I forgot to ask if it really sounds deep

Given that both downpipes utilize high-flow cats and considering all the information available for both items, it's unlikely that one significantly outperforms the other regarding flow capacity.

The horsepower added is really going to depend on the tuning. Our numbers are using stage 2+ tuning. The more boost you push the more restrictive the oem cat becomes and the more gains our downpipe will make in comparison. On a factory tuned car you can expect around 15whp. As far as a charge pipe and intercooler we have some great options to choose from as well. Charge pipe https://mad-us.com/mad-n55-charge-pi...-435-rwd-only/ All of our Intercoolers are now High density which means you get more fins Per square inch = better cooling capabilities. Sport Intercooler - https://mad-us.com/mad-bmw-5-stepped...55-1-2-3-4-m2/ Race Intercooler - https://mad-us.com/mad-bmw-7-stepped...55-1-2-3-4-m2/

I recently installed AA catted down pipe with ER charge pipe and race intercooler. The Down pipe fit quite nicely, my car is X drive so the turbo connection was made through the passenger side wheel well. Kind of a PITA but doable.
Sounds slightly more aggressive than stock, quite nice actually, and I have not done a tune yet. No CEL! |
