My brakes have gotten very bad to the point where embarrassing is an understatement. Dealer agrees that they are way too loud and have agreed to replace both the disks and pads on all four corners.
Anyways, this was decided about two months ago but the work has not been able to get done because there are no pads anywhere. I sort of flip out a couple days ago and finally got an answer today as to why pads are not available. Apparently the M5 along with numerous other models have ongoing issues due to pad manufacturing issues. What I have been told is that completely new pads are coming but no ETA. |

Hope that is true, and that it happens soon. I don’t care so much about the noisy brakes but would gladly welcome less dusty ones. Included in the deal when I purchased the car not long ago was a expanded service plan that includes replacement of brakes, wipers, and alignments for the duration of the original warranty. And I anticipate needing pad and rotor replacement by the end of the summer if not sooner after a few planned days at the track.

I have finally thrown in the towel and have learned to enjoy driving what sounds like an old school bus...
