E93 unanswered questions for the gurus.

2007-07-14 BMW 328i
hey guys new here and have a few questions while I think this has been talked about over and over again, I still think there are some questions missing.

i just picked up the car not long ago. i have done all the reading and

1, have the MULF2 in the trunk mat marked with bluetooth symbol
2, have the aluminum box in the left side of the trunk liner
3, have USB/AUX in console
4, have buttons on radio and steering
5, I do have the talking face button on the steering wheel just above the phone button, doesn't do anything either.
6, ran VIN = S640A Preparation F Tel Installation Universal?

I don't have SOS on the roof as its a convertible, I have not seen it.
i don't have a phone option in the ratio menu. however in the menu it asks me the telephone volume level but I don't seem to have the phone option/

does this mean I have the mic and all other accessories and there is something wrong or what? I'm not looking for a of topic answer ive been a bmw guy for a while and know what I'm working with.

i have done a lot of reading and lurking so I'm familiar. thanks guys, glad to be back in a bimmer.

you have MULF2HIGH module, not TCU, so you do not have SOS button
but since you have 640 option that mean that you probably have mic in steering wheel trim
it is quite easy to remove steering wheel trim using plastic trim tool to check that
you may also unscrew mulf2high module bracket and make more detailed photo of the wires coming to both sides of the module

Sorry PT is what I meant MULF. I will take photos of the wiring and report back. Just a quick question. Is there a phone/Bluetooth fuse or anything like that that I can look into? Considering I don't have the option in the setreo menu might it be a fuse issue you think? Thanks.

How's the basement renovation going Jaye?

First off, I would start the car and set my phone to discoverable in the bluetooth options; see if it recognizes the car. Second I would go into the options outlined in the video someone posted above to see if you have the option to pair with a phone from the car. Third I would go here (https://decoder.bvzine.com/), enter the VIN number and see what options your car has.

A really quick Google search should give you everything you need to know.

Yes BMW did include all those buttons on steering wheel and radio even for cars that did not have those features. The mulf2 is there for USB only. If there is a mic present, we would not know; you'd need to physically check that as ptpending mentioned few posts up.
Since you already have prep option for telephone then that means the wiring for mic are present. Add a mic, Code the mulf for telephone then reset RAD to VO and you should have telephone working.

To find your actual installed options use a free BMW
online Vin checker.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...pytm6ui2dWc1zK

Options with prep means wiring is installed module may or not be installed
and not enabled.

So I just took a peak under the steering cover and there is no mic installed. There are however 2, 2 pin plugs there. I'm guessing for the mic install. Photos will follow in a sec. Also I took a look under the left back lining will post photos of this too.

you do not neet antenna wire, only antenna
it's located in drivers footwell on the internal side of the footwell trim
keep in mind that cabrio mic part number is not same as in sedan, coupe or touring
