Got my car scratched.....fuzz....
Hey guys.. just wondering if anyone knows a way to get a 3 inch scratch to be invisible? i was parked on the street and after work i found out i got a ticket.. but i know i deserved that as i parked longer than i was allowed.. wasn't mad at that but then on the ticket some ahole wrote hahah on my ticket so i was like this aint' good. looked around didn't see the scratch until this morning i saw a 3 inch scratch on the door.. not sure if it's repairable.. hope so.. i'll get some pics soon.. thanks for any input.. was thinking of picus is able to maybe buff it out or something..

If you can feel it with your fingernail or if it's down to primer, you need to fill it with touchup paint...

Get some Lanka to take the blob off, there are a lot of DIYs available for you to follow. Supposely using a toothpick to fill the scratch step by step until it's higher than the body surface, you would be able to use Lanka to remove the excess for a good repair.

I found that scratch x is not that good at all. You should try auto detailing places. I know MingShine in Edmonton, supposedly can get rid of scratches on a car. SPRAYLESS SCRATCH REMOVAL
Try looking for a place like that. .

Hit up your dealer for some touch up and clear coat.
clean the area really well, if there's primer there (looks like it) you shouldn't need any more. grab some pencils with the erasers on them, cut out little circles of 400 grit sand paper and glue them to the erasers. use this tool to smooth the edges of the scratch. after that, clean it well and use some rubbing alcohol on cotton after washing the area. then use a tooth pick dipped in the color to fill in the area. do it in stages, do not over fill the area on the first run! let the first application dry for a few days. clean it again and apply some more until the paint is just above the level of the surrounding paint. let it harden for a week. apply some clear coat if needed. let that dry for a week. then grab some 3000 grit WET sand paper and make more little pencil tool things like you did before. gently sand down the area until it's flush. then some rubbing compound and polish should blend it all together nicely. hope that helps, if not search the net, or you could ask the detail guys in the car care area. |

IMHO this can be buffed out. A detailer like Picus can confirm this! Sucks, but doesn't look that bad. One thing, don't do anything to it yourself.
and g/l

You'll hear and read a gazillion suggestions about how to fix it but if youre the least bit unsure of what you are doing then just leave it alone and take it to someone who does. You wont have to look far on this forum for someone
You may end up making it worse, and regretting it. Good luck. |

Hey xkwazexboy; if you want to bring the car by my place sometime next week I'll take a look at it. It might be too deep to remove entirely, but I am sure it can be reduced. Shoot me a pm.
