Amp Power Terminal Options

Hi all I keep reading conflicting opinions from older posts where to connect the amp to on the battery.
I’d like some updated/fresh opinions please
(I’ll of course be using an inline fuse)
I’ve attached a picture,

As far as I can tell I have 3 options:
Green: starter motor/alternator terminal (this one seems moderately popular)
Blue: I’m not sure which this one is. Anyone know?
Purple: Distribution box terminal (this terminal feeds the junction box) . (Also popular) I believe this one cuts out if a crash is detected.
I’ve read people not connecting amps here talking about it potentially making the car cut out. Is there any truth in this? Perhaps they mean if the amp draws too much power it might blow the distribution box or battery safety terminal or something???

I should mention my amp only requires a 20A fuse, so that’s what I’m using in-line about 15cm (6 inches) from where I’m connecting to the battery.
(Negative will be at wheel arch ground point about a foot from the amp)

Thanks for any advice!

Use and eyelet connector attached to the clamp screw on the positive
clamp lug. Mine has been connected like this for years I also go directly
to the same lug on the negitive side for ground. Or you buy a connector that plugs into one of the empty slots on the battery distribution block as long as its populated with
a fusible link blade.

Technicpnp.com use to make a power kit for this.
I think it comes with some of there harness kits.
It is advised to use one of these cause it means no hacking
on the OEM wire harness.

By the way there is a whole e9x stereo sub forum here

None of your circled choices. Under the tie down strap there is a little blue dot that you can go to bmw for the connector and just plug it in. Like mentioned by ctuna.
Third pic in the below post.

Hi thanks for replying. The socket with the blue dot you mention already has something plugged into it, you can just see this in my photo. There are some others free though. But how do I know what the ratings are of these connections?
I’m reluctant to use these connections as they are fused, correct? And if the amp blows it I have to replace the whole distribution box don’t I?

Yes but there are multiple sockets and any one can be used
as long as it is populated with a fusible link. Unless you have
every option possible there are bound to be some empty sockets.
And at 20 amps most of them should be usable.

There is a picture of the fusible link strip somewhere on the web
with the printed values of each link.

A few people have blown out a link which means you have to buy a new
link strip. (they are 30 to 40 bucks US)They blew it out because they had bad grounds or something
else wrong with there wiring . But there is no risk if you choose to do
it the other way(off the battery clamp lug tightening bolt). I believe the purple connection is also part of the fusible link.

Read the first electrical pdf it shows the fusible link strip.
