No, the top hat usually gets replaced with the one from the camber plate kit (ground control or vorshlag) unless you are using the dinan fixed camber plates then you retain the stock top hats.

But when I look at the Ground Control ones, it seems that I can keep the EOM rubber bushing ...? Can I use them without ?? I have a Xi...

I wanted some more negative camber in the front but didn't want the cheap coilover camber plates. I decided to run new OEM top mounts and drill out the mounting holes in the strut tower. I managed to get some -1,83° camber and it has worked great for the past year.

You don't need to spend money on camber plates.

I loved that !

But you kwow what, I already done that but the OPPOSITE way... My set up (Bilstein and H&R with minimal drop) is eating the INSIDE on my fronts to the cord in only one season... At minimum camber, Īm around -1... So I slotted to be on spec at -0.5... I simply cannot understand how you guys can run -2 or -3...

Please help...
Is all that coming from a loose shock hat...

That won't be caused by only -1deg camber. I suspect your toe setting...what is it?

If your inside tyres are wearing out it is because you run toe-in at an excessive amount in the front.

Unless you run some ridiculous camber of +/-3,00° or more on the streets, then the camber won't cause noticable uneven tyre wear. BUT a toe-angle that is slightly off you can DESTROY your tyres.

I highly recommend running 0,00° +/-0,10° toe in the front.

No, inside tire wear is caused from too much toe OUT!

OP check your toe...camber isn't the issue here.

Toe in or toe out ...? Cause when I think about it, with the caster angle, it seems to me that when you have a lot of toe in, you will run on the inside on the tire when going in strait line...??

Toe in...
Front of car

Rear of car

Toe out...
Front of car
\ /

Rear of car

As you can see, with toe in, the outer edge of the tire leads as the car is moving forward. This causes excessive wear to the outside edge of the tire. The opposite for toe out, now the inner edge of the tire leads, causing excessive wear there.

Well, your thinking also made you believe that your wear issues were caused by camber...please google basic alignment fundamentals before throwing any more parts at that poor car.
