My NAV doesn't understand a word I say.

For instance "navigate home" just takes me to the input address screen and it won't recognize "atm" no matter how much I annunciate. Just me? (Maps just updated to 2019-2 and software updated.)

Agree very picky about how you address NAV. You have to say navigate to give full address so you can't say house or business number as thirteen. You must say one three then street name then city and state all within a certain time period like 5-7 seconds.

Try Navigate to Home. I usually give my full home address. Never tried Navigate home but will try next time. Hope this helps.

Garage List
I have 2019 update - all I say is 'Navigation' then 'Home'

No need to speak your full home address - it already should know what it is if you have it set correctly

Perhaps you sound like Barry Kripke when you speak to the nav?

Just updated mine in the last 3 weeks, and it only wants it in whatever order it has programmed, we were testing it out and it literally took 15 minutes for us to talk to it how it wanted....for a 6 minute drive.

Given that I can't rely on the traffic info, it does me no good anyway. Thanks for confirming it's not just me. I'll stick to Google Maps on my phone.

My Nav voice recognition was not working well as of day one, so as of day two I've never used it. It's not that big a deal to scroll through my saved destinations.

The BMW Genius at the dealership told me it helps if you run the words together. The improvement in recognition is subtle at best. When I speak very carefully like when I'm using an aircraft radio, it makes no difference whatsoever.

You're not Sean Connery are you?
That being said I know I have almost no accent thanks to a variety of reasons (thanks mom and dad!) and I've found the BMW voice recognition reads me at almost 100%, my Ford Sync 3 also used to always get me.

I start with "Navigation....home" and it always picks up on it, the same with most addresses, and it's been 100% on cell phone contacts for me so color me impressed with its accuracy.

I posted about this a week ago and nobody has responded to my post. I have the same problem saying "navigate to 123 main street orlando florida" and it will respond with, " Did you say Croatia", I then say "no" and it tells me to select from the list of options from all over the world, but not Florida

The system is not very good at all. My previous Mustang GT worked great. I could say, "call jim smith at home" and it would dial his home number. I noticed that the BMW asks what number to call when you provide a name with multiple numbers listed.

I also posted that my navigation changes view from 800 feet to 1 mile all the time. It's annoying having to reset it.

I can only speak to iOS devices but I'm sure android is the same, it's imperative that the contacts entries have the proper Home/Mobile/Work designations, if not when you say "call Bob Belcher on cell" it will ask you to select the number if none or more than 1 are listed as "mobile"
