Acoustic Glass Unavailable

My CA is submitting my build for an xline with executive package and he tells me that he cannot select the option for Acoustic glass. I am located in California. Is anyone else facing the same issue?

As I recall you must have the Convenience Tier / Pkg in order to add acoustic glass. I know you wrote you selected Executive, but ask them to check the order system to see if Convenience is also selected. Could be a glitch.


Not sure if that's changed for 2020.

Sounds like BMW may have put a production constraint on the acoustic glass option. We have not heard of anyone else reporting that though so hopefully just something with them putting the order in.

My car entered production on Friday and I have acoustic glass. Maybe I got the last ones available?

I am sure it is just a glitch in the system...

Did you ever get this resolved? Hope this holds up construction of my car as I want to add something!!! HAHAHAHA

I did! The email from BMW to my CA stated "This is a P1 item and the order must be in P1 in order to select it."

I believe P1 stands for Priority 1, I don't really understand what that means, but it may be because we were just configuring a car and not actually placing an order yet. The issue was resolved and my order went in today. I have been driving my CA crazy with back and forth changes, so he probably hates me. Now the wait begins.

Nah, he ❤️Loves❤️ You. I did that too. I had my CAs phone number and we texted everything back and forth. It worked great and he was very responsive. He was also able to check things out before he responded, so I got good answers every time.

My dealer is a 90-minute slog on back roads. I only went there once before I ordered, and again to pick up the car.

It would have been nice to be able to pop in and learn more about all the features, both before and after I ordered, but I didn’t have the patience for the 3-hour round trip.

I plan to use the same CA if I buy another BMW. He claims he will still be there ... that dealer also sells MB, so I could easily test and compare them in the future.

Priority 1 means it's an option that can only be used in a customer order. That is the dealer cannot order for as stock to sell, a customer has to order the car.

We just placed an order for a 2020 X5 M40i a couple of days ago, in FL, and included acoustic glass in the order.
