Rear Seat increased width and Child Car Seats

Just posting some information I found in regards to positioning car seats. The G20 is quite a bit wider for car seat placement. +2 inches! than old 3 series. That is huge when considering middle seat utilization.

So I need a wider car to fit 3 car seats across the back. My F80 M3 just isn't wide enough. So I took some measurements of the possible replacement candidates and was surprised that the new G20 made a significant change in the distance between the outer ISOFIX

F80M3 = 35
G20 = 37 <- +2 inches wider is pretty significant
M5 = 41.5 <- WOW, Guess I'll have to get this one

Mercedes CLS = 38
Mercedes E63 = 38 <-I was really surprised it was this small compared to BMW M5

My kids actually have less room for their feet in my m340i than they did in my F30 when they are in their car seats.

So your saying depth decreased? The old F30 has more leg room than the new g20?

Yes, at least when using a car seat. I don't know if it's the angles or what but I feel like I'm seated in the same position as I was in my 335 and she says she has to turn her feet sideways now to make them fit.

Is the shape of the rear seats identical to the F30, as they are very 'tucked' in?. There is not much usable space between the door and your back in the F30.

My F10 was much more usable in the rear for 3 passengers as it resembled more of a flat bench rather than 2 separate seats connected in the F30.

I was hoping the G20/21 would have more of a flat back seat, indeed to fit multiple passengers.
