Trans shift rod clip stuck in driveshaft flex joint

Yesterday I went to install the BMS ported CDV and Shiftek billet shift rod also sold by BMS. CDV was dead easy but I installed the rod upside down at first of course and when I was correcting that I lost hold of one of the clevis pin clips. It landed in the perfectly worst spot and is lodged between the transmission output yoke and the rubber driveshaft flex joint.

I've spent an embarrassing amount of time over the past 24 hours locating it and trying to fish it out. Bought a borescope which somewhat helped with the visual, but I dont see this coming out unless I take the flex joint out which mean new hardware...

I can source another clip for the rod, my concern is that clip in there causing wear. Hope I'm over-thinking it, interested in some input from anyone who has it.

Cheers
