Swapped subframe, ABS sensor issues
Hey, so i have an 06 325xi. Had a rusty rear subframe so i decided to swap it out. I was searching around craigslist/ FB and found a complete E90 rear end (axles hubs, brakes etc) for a great deal, only issue is it came off a 325i. So in the process of swapping i figured out the ABS sensors and brake rotors are different.
Heres the issue. In order to fix the ABS sensor issue i ordered universal ABS sockets from FCPeuro and re pinned them so i could use the 325i sensors. When i started the car i not only had the 4X4 and ABS lights but also airbag, tire pressure and transmission lights and the car went into limp mode. I was told it was ok to repin the plug for the sensor but I'm wondering if thats the issue im having. or if maybe i have the pins wrong?? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated Thanks!! |

Why not have moved all the cables, etc over from original subframe? Just use the new subframe structure. This would have been my approach.

because the axle nuts and everything on the old frame were to rusted to remove(nuts were complete mush/non existant) so i couldnt save the hubs. Hence getting a complete rear end for the swap. And the stock sensors (325xi) arent compatible with the 325i hubs, so i had to retro fit the 325i sensors using universal ABS sockets at the connection.
Also wanted to add- I scanned it yesterday and it didnt throw any codes Last edited by bdub457; 06-07-2019 at 07:05 AM.. |
