Questions about three items on my M340i’s VIR

Hi,

I have two items on VIR that I am not sure what they are or provide:
• ZTM Tier 2
• 5DN Parking Assistant Plus

Also, I thought Surround View with 3D view was part of either Premium or Executive package, but don't see it listed

would appreciate any help on these three things

Thanks!

AFAIK, ZTM Tier 2 is related to the car meeting U.S. emissions requirements. It's a standard thing for all U.S. BMW 3 series cars, so not something to be concerned about.

5DN Parking Assistant Plus is the feature that allows the car to park itself without steering input from the driver. See here for more info:
https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1348970

As for Surround View w/ 3D, as far as I can tell from the ordering guide, that is only part of the Parking Assistance Package, and not included in either Premium or Executive Package. However, 5DN Parking Assistant Plus is also only included in the Parking Assistance Package.
Unless BMW changed the option/package requirements from the order guide, I would think that if you have 5DN you should also have Surround View...but I could be wrong.

surround view with 3d is listed in the description of the executive package in the configurator. Also it wont let you select both parking assist and exec packages at the same time so I think its all included

This is correct.

Executive Package ($2,100): Take command of the road immersed in luxury and propelled by the latest technology like innovative Gesture Control to operate select functions with simple hand movements, Parking Assistant Plus for hands-free, autonomous parallel parking, Surround View w/3D View to give you a complete perspective of your surroundings, Active Park Distance Control for safer manual parking, and ultimate road illumination with Automatic High Beams to maximize visibility and BMW Laserlight technology to push the boundaries and provide the maximum output allowable for the United States.

It's funny a lot of people aren't buying exec pack because they think it's mostly just the laser lights but it includes the full parking pack and 3D camera views with all the active sensors. I think the exec pack is a must for the surround view and better DRLs.

You can get the parking features in the Parking Assistance Package though. That then begs the question, what else am I getting for the additional 1,200 in the Executive Package (2,100 - 900). For me, the 1,200 for laser lights and gesture control was a gimmicky offer. Particularly since laser lights are so rarely able to be used.

Yeah but those base headlamps/DRLs. Barf! Kills the car IMO.

There are 3 tiers of headlamps in the G20. I agree the base LED's are "barf", but the Adaptive LED's vs. Laserlight is less of an discernible different in real life (and not worth a 1,200 uncharge, to me at least).

Two questions here
(1) Is there difference between DRLs for standard and adaptive LEDs? Pics?
(2) If you don't get the Parking Assist Plus package (or the exec) does that mean the only camera the car comes with is the rear view camera and nothing else?
Thanks in advance

1. There's a comparison posted by Jay here: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1569980
I think from a distance, the standard and adaptive DRLs look the same. it's the laser DRL's that are different.

2. I think the answer is yes, you only get the rear view camera w/o Park Assist or Exec pkgs.

All I want is the auto high beams but I need to spend $2100 to get it. It's a feature that should be standard on all cars.

BMW likes to nickle and dime, auto high beam should be standard. At-least this time around we get decent headlights standard, since F30's were still being offered with halogens as standard which is truly pathetic.
