Morning Scratch: Intentional?
Woke up with this beauty on the top of my trunk. Can anyone tell if it was done on purpose? Also, what's the best way to get this fixed? I'm not sure how engraved it is but it's deeper than just a scratch on the surface.

Looks intentional to me.

Can't say if it is intentional or not, but that won't buff out unfortunately.

Doesn't seem accidental... Only real fix is respraying, other than "temporary" fixes like Dr. Color Chip.
I have a similar scratch (looks like someone keyed it) on my bumper, and was quoted around $500. |

Intentional.. The trunk has to be repainted, the scratch already cut the paint. At least they didn't touch the spoiler..
Who did you piss off? Did you block someone's driveway or something? |

Looks like a good excuse to get a full carbon CSL style trunk, as that's obviously beyond repair

I was thinking about going the Dr. Color Chip route, however, with it being deep I'm not sure if it'll settle right. I have a feeling I'll get quoted around the same and that's more than I want to pay.

That's the crazy thing, I keep to myself. I live in an apartment building with a garage that requires access key to get in and we all have assigned parking spots. I really don't know why or who...

Soften it and live with it is an option. You can get it pretty close to where few people will notice it but you. |

Sorry to see that. I grew up in NOVA and did not have issues like that when I lived there. I did have some crappy cars at the time, so maybe that is why. Do people put stuff on your car like purses, etc. I had to outlaw my wife and kids from putting stuff when I bought my new car because they scratched the heck out of my old car with soccer bags, purses, backpacks, etc. some were pretty deep and they were all accidents. Regardless it stinks. Good luck getting it fixed.

Daughter and son in law went to Norfolk to see the Wisconsin among other things. Some cretins broke the rear widow in their van, took nothing fortunately. But, what a hassle, on Memorial Day Monday too. Little bastards like that are a real pain and should be put in jail for a few days.

You could always get a paint pen from the dealer to just fill that in as a temporary fix until you feel like getting it professionally fixed. Luckily it's on top of your trunk so it's not that as noticeable as a scratch on the side of the body.

Hard to say how deep it is, sometimes with just the right angle it will appear far deeper than it really is. Take a look at this video if you haven't already. There is a way you can test the depth with a quick spray to see if it has gone completely through the clear coat or not.
