So I just got my car back from the dealer after updating to the latest software to 03/2019.48

For some reason when i signed in to my driver profile it shows my email address as the name and not my name, which it was showing until the software update. I tried rebooting idrive but no luck. I confirmed that my app has my first name and last name. Nothing changed except the software update.

Also, does any know how to log out of the driver profile and then log back in without deleting the driver profile? It seems that deleting the driver profile also deletes all the seat settings, climate settings, etc. so don't want to go through that hassle.

You should be able to change to the Guest profile and then choose yours to log back in again. I have only done that right after I got it while fixing my profile's login, at that time the Guest is always a choice. I have not done it since it was hidden, there may be an iDrive setting to show it or to log out. If I find anything I will let you know.

My only guess is that something changed in the new software and it is displaying the account name rather than the friendly/first name on the account.

This actually worked! I switched to the guest profile and then back to mine (did not have to log in again as it switches automatically with the saved credentials) and it showed my name. Thanks!
