Pls advise....
This is my first BMW that I ever owned, and the car is a 335i convertible in gunmetal color. I am considering a bodykit for my car...but there are too many choices out there...abit frustrated...can you guys advise which kit should I get out of the two brands below..And which one is better as in quality, brand recognition, and looks?.....
Lumma http://www.lumma-design.com/CONTENT/...0RS/index.html Hamann http://www.hamann-motorsport.de/49.0.html?&L=1 And I am also considering for some 20" rims...Currently, I am looking at Breyton and Hamann (attached pics) and again I dont know which one is better in terms of quality, brand recognition, and looks...which brand would you guy advise?? Or are there other brands that even better?? Please advise. Many thanks. Last edited by B335; 08-07-2008 at 01:32 PM.. |

For the body kit, I think the OEM M-tech kits look really nice.
As for wheels, I find that 20" is too big (though many people beg to differ). Take a look at the wheel vendors here on this forum. |

I would consider the Hamman for 20's they are probably ore solied vs. Breyton wheels. For 20's I would look at forged wheels for strength (DPE, HRE, BBS are also very strong.)
As others have posted m-tech kit is a good choice looks good imo.

Hamanns > Breytons...
Mtech front with 3d splitters -- m3 sideskirts -- Mtech rear -- m3 mirrors I think those Hamann wheels are real nice. Majority of the ppl on this forum will just recommend CSL reps / m6 reps / BBS LM which i say 40% of the entire forum members are running....else wise OEM... Get those hamann wheels

the hamann kit will look great on you car. I personally love the hamann kit cause it stands out , but doesnt stand out too much, if you know what i mean.
+ 20 inch won't look too big if it has a lip. with a nice drop with coilovers, your ride will be perfect! If you have the money, you should also get hamann quads! SR racing will probably be the best place to check out. i member here has a AW92 with full hamann kit and hamann quad exhaust. Looks/sounds amazing! Welcome! and come to our meets if you have time!

Yeah, I think OEM kit does look pretty good. For wheels, you have many choices: Hamann, ACS, DPE, HRE.
Contact Lewis@MWdesign, I'm pretty sure he can hook you up good. OT: SR racing has a lot of selection. But I think they rape people with their prices. My 2 cents.

Lewis@MWDesign can definitely help you in making a sound choice as I've heard very positive comments about him, in order of quality/strength (HRE, DPE, BBS, Hamman, Iforged, etc.). Lewis shimmie in here please As for swapping from one car to the other, it may be possible but not likely. The bolt pattern remains the same but the offset (measurement the positions the wheel within the wheel well) varies. On some models spacers can correct this but not always. Hope this helps!

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/....jsp?techid=90 Browsing through this forum, you will notice that the most widely accepted rims are either HRE,DPE,I-Forged, BBS or some type of CSL replica. There are plenty of other great wheels out there as well, so don't just limit yourself to what the forum guys think are cool, do your research. Although our Vancouver streets are pretty decent over most of the year, i would deff. recommend that you have a set of winter wheels as well (polished or chrome lips don't fare too well on winter roads). As for rim protection, usually the larger the diameter of the wheel, the bigger the chance that it will bend, so if you are really worried about that, go for 19's with a bit of a wider tire that offers a bit more rim protection ( as opposed to the stretched tire look that some people run). Quote:
Well, 6 series run a much lower offset than 3 series, so no, they wouldn't fit right out of the box, but theoretically you could throw on some spacers and make them fit.

Thanks for the info man. Really appreciate it.
The bad road condition from what I meant is in Asia. Believe me, shitload of pot holes. I be happy if I have nice road like Van to drive on. And guess what...your ability to top speed in town is like 20-30 km/hr. LOL it like strolling down school zone from dust till dawn. Then late at night, you can rip it up but you might hit some drunk ass people on scooters. Still people can drive their Ferraris and Lambos here, just abit more cautious I guess. What you guys think of the brand BREYTON?? anyone experience with Breyton products?? Pls share your experience if you do. Thanks. |
