My Story
Lease:
$99,275 MSRP Selling Price: $89,691.82 Loyalty: $1,250 Capitalized Cost Reduction: $1,249.93 (Dealer credit). Not sure why the dealer did this over reducing the selling price. Total monthly payment: $1,220.07 36/12 [$0 Down first month payment]. Build/Ordering: Order was placed on 05/04. The tracking on the website is definitely not accurate. Calling the 1800 number gave me a voice automated completion date. After this date it said the vehicle was ready so I contacted my dealer and they gave me the estimated ship date. Vehicle was delivered on 05/24. Quality/Tech Issues: The driver's seat cushion came loose and it actually cut the SA's finger. I have a service appointment on Tuesday for them to try to fix it. BMW Connect App does not have all the functions yet. I can only unlock/lock/honk horn. I was told I have to wait a week or more for it to sync to the new servers. BMW digital key does not work. I have to bring this up to them when I take the car in for service. The SA said something about doing a flash of the software. The trim is not the one I picked. However, it looks nice so I didn't say anything. First Impressions: I have the M Sport package with the comfort handling package (air suspension) and 22" NonRF. The car is very comfortable. It's like you're on a cloud. Bowers and Wilkins sound system is worth it. I haven't had a chance to configure it yet but the stock settings sounds better than my tweaked (EQ settings) HK in my X3 M40i. Acoustic Glass. It is quiet! Massage Seats are one of the best. BMW has definitely improved on this. Thanks everyone for all your help during this process. |

One digital key comes with the X5 that can be put on a compatible cell phone. Apple phones do not work at all but I think an S10+ does. I think you can download your key from the connected drive website. |

Pretty bad I took delivery of my new X5 on Friday. And I have had problems with BMW connect. It seems to be down. When you call the 800 service they said that they were going through a software upgrade. I said will be up Saturday morning she said it’s been down for a couple weeks.
I also learned it was just appointed with the dealer told me that my iPhone would not work as a keyless remote. I don’t understand how the car can have Apple play a lot also be set up to work as a keyless remote. Next disappointment is the dealer did not know how to deal with the digital key. And they had to order one as the car did not come with one. $70,000 + list price BMW FAILURE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE |

It is a limitation of the NFC implementation that the iPhones use, it is not a BMW from my understanding.
