Suspension warranty question
I’m currently leasing a 17 340i, a noise from the front end just started it’s a clank when reversing and touching the brake only does it once or twice, can reproduce the clank if I put it in drive then back in reverse, reverse a hit and touch the brake pedal, clank again. Called the dealership apparently there is no suspension warrenty unless it was a busted shock. That’s kind of insane not to cover ball joints, control arms, tie rods or collapsed bushing.

Dealer is telling you a fairytale. It's all covered as long as they can reproduce the issue.
It's a 2017, should still be under factory warranty isn't it? |

The response from the dealer is questionable at best.
If this problem can be consistently reproduced, _any BMW dealer will correct the issue under warranty. EDIT: Is there a more receptive dealer in the your area? Last edited by cfm56d7b; 05-20-2019 at 01:42 PM.. |

Not surprising as warranty work bills less than if a customer would have to foot the bill so if the service department is high volume, they would rather take customer paying jobs than warranty related jobs.
For something like OP's issue, it's not a simple fix where the problem easily identifiable. A tech might spend days if not weeks determining the issue. After a certain period of time, the time billed to BMW is capped and the tech is working on a job they're no longer being paid for. |

It's the brake pads moving in the calipers. F30 floating caliper noise.
All you have to do is remove the front pads, clean everything, lightly grease the back of the pad where the piston hits, and the top and bottom of it where it sits in the caliper. I have to do it again, it works well for awhile. |
