How does everyone like the new Comfort Access?

While I seriously love the new Comfort Access and the ability to be almost truly hands-free now when entering and exiting the car, I do find it to be aggravating when I exit the car and linger around it too long...

You walk away and it will lock and mirrors will retract, but if you move back towards it it does the whole unlock sequence again even if you aren't headed to the driver's door.

I think it's a bit overly sensitive and wish the proximity could be reduced a notch.

Is this something than can be done via a future OTA update?

Tell me about it. The car locked and unlocked itself at least 10 times while I was washing it yesterday. Next time I will just disable comfort access for a few mins. Maybe car wash mode would have made a difference.

This was annoying me as well when I was hanging out in my front yard and kept walking past the car. I turned off the unlock when near feature, so it only locks when I walk away. That way you still get half the comfort access and not the annoying beeping lock/unlock.

I agree with the sensitivity of the feature. If you walk away a few feet it would lock. It can be difficult when you're loading groceries or getting out of the car before your wife and it locks her in lol.

I hope they update it in a future to provide options on how far you walk away.

Great feature, just need more options.

Lol. I just enabled this feature, and it does warn you not to leave anyone in vehicle.

Grrrr!! I still can't get the 3D viewing to work!!

Yes happened to me all the time its the unlock/lock when approaching or leaving the car feature. To remedy this I made it unlock when approaching but but have to touch the handle to lock this way it doesn't lock the gas tank when I get out of the car to fill the gas.

This seems like the best approach.

Leave your keys inside your car when you're gassing up or washing it to avoid it locking and unlocking.

Smart man, I usually throw my keys into one of the cup holders soon as I step in my car. Not because of the new comfort access, but because I hate driving with anything in my pockets. So for me personally, I won't have any issues with the new CA.

Maybe leave the key away from the car?

I like it but could absolutely live without it.

I have only had mine for a few weeks...I may alter the settings to stop it opening and closing via key proximity but we'll see.

One thing I think is daft is that the Windows and sunroof don't close automatically when you walk away from the vehicle...unless I am missing something?

I thought it was neat at first.

Then I washed the car and the damn thing kept beeping and baping all over.
Had the key in my pocket and just doing random stuff around the house and the car would start locking and unlocking.

I turned it off now, much happier. Though I might re-activate the locking part.

Keys are security items. Not having them on my person outside the house simply isn't happening.

Has anyone found any issues with the welcome lights?

Since my software update it no longer switches all welcome lights on automatically as I approach or stand near the car.

I use the half comfort where you have to grab the handle.

Yes. I rarely have the keys with me. The key stays in my work bag. I use the keycard for car washing, errands when I am not going to and from work etc. key card stays in my card case so that's always with me.

Yes, please! Otherwise, I love it! Not only the proximity opening/closing, but also being able to open the trunk hands-free is awesome when you have your hands full.

No issues with it locking and unlocking in the house. But will have a faraday key sleeve and a box to put the key FOBs into arriving soon. Living in Germany and there have been a few cases of vehicle thefts that have high tech receivers. You might have to temporarily shut off that feature or just put it into a faraday sleeve to prevent transmission of the key FOB.

The new keys have a motion sensor and stop transmitting after no movement for a set time which I can't remember what it is

With comfort access can you turn on locking but turn off unlocking? is that an option?
