So my N55 HPFP gave out today at 51k miles...
I have a 2014 435i xdrive with 51k miles, it was on a burger tuning JB4 map 1 (2 psi over stock boost), no hard accelerations, car went into limp mode out of absolutely nowhere. Wierd knocking coming from the pump, and there does not seem to be a solid and tested HPFP upgrade with lots of reviews or backing. Bought one from FCP euro for 300 rather than the 1000 they were going to charge me at the stealership.
Car has a catless downpipe and intake. Thats it, no prior issues. WHY DID THIS HAPPEN? |

HPFP issues pretty much ended in 2011 (mostly on N54s) when they finally came up with a good pump after several tries. I would put this down to "parts break" and bad luck.

I'm not a fan of the stock HPFP...when I fist tuned my car it just kept crashing and it was really annoying.
I'm going on 22k miles on TTFS/XDI HPFP and it's bulletproof.... unlike other parts on the F30 platform when you start pushing the car. If you're keeping the car for a long time...it may be a viable option for you. Hope you get this resolved |

yes there was, but this is about as mild of a tune as you can put on a car. So i assume this isnt the issue. People are running pure stage 2 turbo kits on stock high pressure fuel pumps with no issue. And this did not occur during acceleration. But then again, im not a professional, im just using my own logic so i could be wrong. Thanks brother.

BMW fixed issues with the HPFP a while ago. There's no reason to believe the B58's HPFP is any more reliable than the N55's as of yet. Sometimes parts just break. Especially if you have a tune. |

Apparently from the research i have done it is the same exact HPFP that was put in the N54.

I'm not sure what you're talking about with "pushing 18psi on the stock HPFP". Did your charge pipe blow? Or did your HPFP blow? You make it sound like they're related somehow. F30 N55 HPFP seem to be fairly reliable even in tuned cars with stock turbos. |

My charge pipe blew while running 12 psi with my jb4 last year. so i upgraded. My HPFP blew yesterday while cruising at 50mph. |
