Koni yellows - wobbly rebound adjuster??

My cars been sitting in the garage for two weeks. I decided to firm up the ride tonight. As I started turning the front rebound setting, the white knob started wobbling. It used to be a smooth pivot but now the turn seems off balance during a rotation. Anyone had this happen before? It was a little dark outside but I think I saw some oil seeping around the turn adjuster.
