Hotchkis E90/92 Sport Chassis Brace Info

Upgrades the E92 factory aluminum under car chassis brace, with a high strength, steel, aero tubing design for superior chassis rigidity and good looks. Brace is intended to increase exhaust clearance by 3/8" for many popular aftermatket exhausts.

HP Autowerks, Inc. worked very closely with Hotchkis to expand the application to the E90's including the Xi models(with aftermarket exhaust only).

In the case of the E90's, This brace will add significant chassis stiffening since they didn't come with a full brace like the E92's. And since E90's didn't come from the factory with this brace, two additional brackets and bolts are required to complete the installation.

HP Autowerks will have the E90 installation kits available.

Full installation with photos will be posted in a few days!

Price is $350 with FREE shipping to the 48 states.

News:

Some of you PM me regarding the polished version of this brace. First thing first, it 's not a polished finish, it's actually a nickel finish.

In addition, Hotchkis only made one polished prototype, which is currently installed on their own project vehicle. No production braces were made that way and none were ever sold.

However, Hotchkis is consider the nikel finish along with the gunmetal powder coat.

Cool, finally out now. Read about it in the past but haven't actually seen a pic of it. I'm really interested in this piece. Pricing? Can you show a pic of where the brace is? It's hard to imagine where it would go without seeing it.

We didn't take any photos during the Hotchkis R&D process. As soon as we get one in our hands, we will post a photo here.

If you look at some of the exhaust DIY, you'll notice they mention to take of the small brace on the e90 as well as the x brace for the e92.

If you increase the rigidity of the chasis in one point where does the load transfer to and is that point up to the increase?

I prefer to add braces to both front & rear. Usually topside, because they are lighter and cheaper, but an underside brace like the Hotchkis is really a serious piece of equipment. I would definitely want to add a shock tower brace in the rear with it though.

The E90 has only a smll retangular brace, the E92 has the x. You are right!

I know the e92 has the x brace in the rear... do they have a front brace?

Just the rear. The front subframe is already a good design. A better upper brace would be nice, such as the E9X M3 one!

Great! Thank you. How about the e90? Same sort of design up front?

I wish I would of had this when I installed my exhaust. I had to tweak my exhaust to clear that rear brace from making a horrible rattle against it.

Got a pic of this? I didn't know the M3 had an upper rear brace. Or did you mean the M3's front strut tower brace?
