Brake Dust

I have owned multiple M cars, and I know brake dust can build up quick but boy the M5C really cakes it on quick. How do you guys clean your rims in between washes? Also are the ceramic brakes better in this regard?

My wheels get dirty from road dust before brake dust with the CCBs. It’s hard to ever even see any actual Brake dust. You might get some on a track, but street driving hardly noticeable. The ccbs are my favorite option. Had them on my f10. Don’t ever want a daily driver without them.

Buy aftermarket ceramic pads ... no dust and cost less then 10% of the cost of CCB

These will help with dust, but will probably hurt pedal feel, and will probably wear out your steel rotors faster. Ceramic pads definitely still make more dust than CCB.

Valid points.

I've gone this route on 4 of my last M5's with very good results. Pedal feel on the ACG pads is actually very good and I've never had any issue with the steel rotors on any of the M5's I've owned. Dust is almost non-existent, probably not as good as CCB, but certainly very good and 100 times better than the OEM pads.

Like most of these discussions, this one is subjective to say the least. It really boils down to the individual and whether CCB's are $8.5k better than simply replacing the pads. For some it is, for others it is not ... also dependent of what you put the car to do (street vs track.).

Some say I'm a fool for spending $ on Xpel PPF on the entire car, I say I love a car that looks perfect and don't like rock chips, scratches etc.

You get my point; enjoy your CCB's and I'll enjoy my aftermarket pads LOL.

Totally agree. I changed to aftermarket pads on my F10 and had much less dust. I also covered my whole F90 in XPEL. There's just nothing that can match PPF protection and peace of mind.
