Permanently Disable Auto Stop/Start?
On my 3 Series and on my X5 I was able to have the annoying Auto Stop/Start feature remember it’s last known position and thus always remain in the “off“ position.
Is this possible for the X7 at the dealer (or via coding)? |

You can do it with BimmerCode on the new X5,so it should also work on the X7.I am going to send the App developer a message and confirm that it works for the X7.

Did anyone request that the dealer disable the feature (remember last setting)? |

This was the App developers reply,
it will most likely, but has not been tested so far. Schöne Grüße / Kind regards Stephan Gauch — BimmerLink · BimmerCode Stephan Gauch · Siemensstraße 7 · 72116 Mössingen · Germany Who wants to be the first to see if it works.I haven’t used BimmerCode yet,so maybe someone with experience using the App should give it a try. |

That sucks. I hate this feature. I don’t remember it ever being on when I test drove. Does it work really well where you don’t notice it?
I used it on a rental x90 once and it was not good. |

When you need to really floor it and scoot across a busy road, the last thing you want is any hesitation whatsoever, you want a burst of instant torque and explosion forward. This was a problem in our X5 before I had Start/Stop coded off; the X7 being substantially heavier is an even bigger problem and I've got to get my wife to remember to hit the 'off' button, it's actually unsafe for our situation and a major concern for me. |

I heard back again today from the App developer. He said to select the G30 5 series on the App and it should be able to code the engine ECU.I already have the UniCarScan adapter from Germany,so i might give it a try this weekend.

Maybe a dumb question, but are we talking about both the 40i and 50i? They’re both unable to disable this?

Is there a button to turn it off that must be pressed every time you start the car, or is there no way to do even that? I don’t remember it going off when I test drove, and I think I would’ve noticed cause I HATE that feature.

My wife has been driving the X7 mostly, but on my M5, once to turn it off, it stays off on every startup. From what I recall when driving the X7, it stayed off as well....

It doesn't stay off in the X7.Your M5 is a M car.BMW still codes M cars to remember the last ASS setting from the factory. So when you turn it off in your M5,it stays off the next time you start the vehicle.
