Electronic glitches - WTH is wrong with my car?
All in-car sounds are missing and a bunch of warning messages. Weird thing is this always happens at night, after 7-8 pm! Brought it dealer and they said no fault found, updated the software, but obviously it did not solve the problem. Anyone has similar issues?
Here is a video showing what I meant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W82EMiF9pZ4 |

Could it caused by the fact that you are parked right up against the wall. The radar sensor may be malfunctioning because of that. Are you getting the same error even when there's nothing in front of the car?

Here's a forum member with an X3 that had a similar problem:
https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1572314 I also had the same thing happen once to my 2017 230i. It's been about 6 months, and it hasn't come back. |

bking604 what software version does your car currently have? Mine is v11/2018.75 for reference, probably old one, did not observe what you shared on video.
Check Car->Settings->Remote Software Upgrade for installed software version. Might also try to do Reset Vehicle Data and reconfigure the personal preference again and see if that resolve it. |

Thanks for all the replies.
The service department initially suspected (more like blamed) that my WiFi dash cam is causing this issue. I explained that the errors were present before I installed the dash cam but they insisted it was the dash cam, even when it's not powered on! Anyway, since the problem is back I'm bringing the car back to the dealer this coming Tuesday. I've forwarded all related threads from this forum to them, hopefully replacing the KAFAS camera will solve the issue. I'll check the software version later, but they did say they have updated it. I tried "Reset vehicle data" too but it didn't help. On a side note, my exhaust is also faulty but they ordered a new one for me, which will take 3 weeks to arrive. I really like the new 3 series but it's very disappointing to have so many problems in just two weeks of owning it. |

I have the same issue in MY G20, except it will go away after 30-60 seconds then a few minutes later it will happen again. And I still have sound from the indicators and from the radio. If I cruse for 30 minutes down the high way it happens maybe 5 or 6 times.

So the car is finally fixed after over a month of back and forth with the dealership and BMW Canada.
Exhaust rattle noise was due to a faulty muffler. This part was easy, the dealer ordered a new muffler and I just had to wait a few weeks for it to arrive from Germany. Parts changed: 18-30-7-933-843 Rear Muffler with Exhaust FI 18-30-7-560-782 Clamping Bush "Driver Assistance support reduced" error and audio malfunction took a while to figure out. Long story short, the "RAM" or Receiver Audio Module, aka the Amplifier, is the culprit. Initially the dealer/BMW Canada ordered the wrong part so I had to wait another week for the correct part to arrive. Part changed: 65-12-9-859-200 Receiver Audio Module (This is the number shown on my service record. I Googled this part number and I don't think this is the correct one for the G20s.) Anyway, I haven't seen any error messages or audio malfunction since and I hope it keeps it that way. Now, for the compensation... |
