I was informed today there is an active SA on all N63M engines. They need to replace the intake ducts which is pretty simple. My car was supposed to be ready for pick up tomorrow, now it's delayed until Wednesday due to this.

I'll post the service docs once I get my X5 back

I picked mine up from the dealership yesterday, they checked on this and I was told it's functioning ok and no need for repair

odd, mine said they are fine but will replace due to the SA (service action)

maybe they wanted that $$ for doing the work from BMW

That is what I was told two weeks ago. They have my car again this week but not sure I want to bring this up since I have bigger issues.

bigger issues? such as? maybe this SA only affects certain production dates?

Is there anyway to look up the SA number and confirm VIN or is it a blanket and I will need to call my local service center?

That shouldn't be a hard fix!



So I clarified with the dealer on mine. They did not replace my intake ducts. A scope was used to see the P/N inside, mine was not in X batch of bad ones so no parts got replaced.

Do we know the date range or part number? I called my dealer they have to get back to me....

No clue, they have to use a scope to see it so I assume it's really far in there.

They kept it 3 days last time and did not fix this. Today is the second day and I do not know when they want to release the car back to me.

That helped! But called my SA and he looked it up (my car just arrived and is sitting there being prepped and detailed now), said that it wasn't applicable to my car *shrug*

Probably waiting on BMW to release a fix via an IRAP or PUMA case from their engineers.
