For those running radar detectors

How much Lidar/Laser are you catching in the bay area and central valley? I heard most of the traps in the central valley have been k band radar. Anyone have any input? I am thinking of picking up that new 9500xi because of the gps. Thanks.

I have a V1, but I just moved here and havent taken my car outside of dublin/pleasanton.

vapor, I don't have any detector, but I've heard on the 92/280 interchange that some ppl have been hit by lidar

i haven't really gotten lasered yet. But there are always speed traps on 280 near 92. Other than that, CHP uses Ka band here. I don't think CA uses K band anymore.

I'm in the Dublin / Pleasanton area too. Be careful on 680 (particularly Southbound) @ 580 interchange. CHP motorbike is there often with laser.

Many CHP offices are getting laser and they're all supposed to go to school to learn how to operate laser etc. However, some officers still prefer to use Ka in their cars because it's just much more convenient. You can drive along and just turn it on and you'll find somebody. Laser is cumbersome to use since you have to sit still, aim it, and when you catch somebody you have to go chase them down... Kinda a PITA.

Regardless, lots of CHP is going to laser now, so be careful...

Was heading to SFO from dublin and there was a she cop aiming her laser on 238/580...

680 southbound/ 580 interchange there's a chp bike using laser. Further down on 680 south before sunol there's a chp bike/patrol car shooting his laser from a ditch as well. I commute that way mon-fri and I'll see them at least a couple times a week. Sometimes I'm so worried and trying to see ahead of me that I don't realize that there's chp cars sneaking up behind us pacing people. I know it's hard, but keep it under 75 during that stretch

How about for So Cal? I never get a legit laser alert. Airport radar sets off laser alert; not sure the reason.
