M3 Mirrors on 335i E90 LCI

Hello,
I want to change my mirrors to M3 style ones.
Has anyone tried the option to build them themselves using OEM parts?
I got inspired by watching

--
From what I see in https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_6245
I might need parts 2, 4 and 5?
Is there any DIY guide anywhere?

Note: My current ones are automatic foldable mirrors with auto dip and dimming.

Why isn't there caps made to look like these like the f30 ones ???

Certainly looks doable. Looks like you'd be at about $250/mirror plus paint. It's a pretty cool mod, and all, but a little pricy at about $6-650 by the time you're done. Have you compared part numbers of the other parts to see if they're the same between the M3 and non M?

Well I have partially compared them:
Part 6 of the M3 is the same as part 5 of the 335i LCI
Part 7 of the LCI is non existing in the M3
Part 7 is for vehicles with Interior/outside mirror with auto dip ( S430A=Yes ) Wiring electr.ext.mirror drivers side and Wiring electr.ext.mirror co-driver side, which I have.

Other than that - I am shooting in the dark.

I bought E90 M3 OEM mirror assemblies and installed them on my E91 LCI. No issues, plug and play.

I think the OP wants to minimize cost? Though I thought about why aren't there replaceable caps/frame and keep current glass etc.

Not going to try, no money to spend on this.. good luck and looking forward for a DIY

Which parts did you buy (numbers)? Does your dip work and your dimming (are there actually M3 mirrors with dimming?) ?

That is correct - I'm trying to minimize the cost since I am planning to invest in performance of the car and I wanted to change the mirrors in parallel.

Note: Also if there is a DIY for M3 E92 to E90 LCI conversion, it would be useful, since I'm from EU and most of the original M3 mirrors (that I have found) are for E92.
I'm trying to list all of the options so I can decide what to do.
