1999 E46 328i - 193hp (My first BMW)
2007 E90 335i - 300 hp

Will all cars have electric assist? Will electric motors replace ICE?

As much as I prefer gasoline engines, seeing cars like the Model 3 Performance and the Model S and X P100DL destroy gasoline engine cars show that the future for even performance cars seem to be electric. However as fast as they are I just don't think I'll enjoy driving them just as much.

I do hope to see more electric assisted gasoline engines though. Something that combines the instant torque of an electric motor with the pulling power of a gasoline 6 or 8 cylinder engine. I wouldn't mind if the successor the G80 M3 will have a straight 6 with a big electric motor that gives it more power than current twin turbo V8s.

2030 all electric and vintage gas powered BMW's especially with 6MT will be in the stratosphere. I bet the last M3 Pure 6MT will be fetching stupid money.

Not enough, that's for certain!

BMW had an edge over the competition long back then, but now they struggle to even get on par. Much too long they kept the 335i on 300hp, why did they even launch the 340i only at 320hp clearly below the audi S4 and Merc C45/C43 AMG?

Even now with the M340i, why not go over 400hp and let the Tesla Performance 3 take the performance crown!?

BMW has become arrogant and they are no longer on top of their game. Instead they launch SUV's and (ugly) mini vans with FWD for soccer moms.

Probably a misleading bit of stat as different cars are compared in here. That said it'll be interesting to see what the base model progression look like over the years.

in the us at least for the first year models....

e46 325i - 184hp
e90 325i - 215hp
f30 328i - 240hp
g20 330i - 255hp

of course in the first 3 cases I think these were all pretty underrated. the e90 came back the next year with a virtually unchanged design as the 328i with "230hp" when the 335i came out and BMW changed all the model numbers. and the f30 on dynos was estimated at more like 270

They were all 6 cylinder most powerful engines offered in a 3 series. Not base models.

Top line model - all-electric, guaranteed, probably easily over 400hp (and that's non-M). But there will still be plenty of 318i's and 320d's for third world countries with inadequate EV infrastructure.
