Here’s how to configure a 330i xDrive with THP at bmwusa.com
The bmwusa G20 configurator is a bit of a joke at this point (did they outsource the software to Boeing?). But I did stumble on a way to get it to configure the Track Handling Package for the 330i xDrive (even though it does not identify such an option package with xDrive). Just build a 330iX with the M Sport option. Then select the 19" 791M jet black wheel option with high-performance non-RFTs and shazaam, the components of the Track Handling Package pop up in your configuration.
But the cost summary for this build is a bit hosed. Your total price goes up by $3150 (after you account for the $150 Space Saver Spare it has added in), even though the THP is supposed to be only $2450 extra. Turns out to be the $700 for the Adaptive Suspension in the THP has been double-billed into your final cost. Even more bizarrely, after you complete this build, if you go back and select an all-season tire option, your build changes to this tire option but still retains the THP components. Plus if you add up the individual price components in either of these two builds, they always add up to less that what the bottom line says. A failure in third grade math. Maybe I'll just wait until the 2020 330i pricing guide comes out. Or maybe for the G20 LCI. Hilariously embarrassing for a major corporation.

I think you're best off just picking the packages you want from the ordering guide and working with a SA so they can build it in their system to give you the final vehicle and MSRP. I've noticed lots of inconsistencies too. One that bothers me is Adaptive M Suspension doesn't appear to be an option for the 330i, but does for the xDrive equivalent.

Track Handling Package isn't available on 330i xDrive, so even if you're able to find a way to hack the website to include it, you won't be able to order it from BMW.

https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1555055&page=7 The problem is more than just a squirrely configurator - the initial release of the Pricing Guide out there on the internet is already obsolete in some of its details.

Eating a bit of crow:
"Turns out to be the $700 for the Adaptive Suspension in the THP has been double-billed into your final cost." I was wrong. The M Adaptive Suspension is no longer a part of the THP (as was shown in the initial release of the Pricing Guide). But no change in the price of the THP. So now you can order the THP and still have the non-adaptive M Suspension (in ZMP). I was wrong about the configurator being wrong (I would like another wing, please).

If ZTP used to include M Adaptive Suspension on the F30, and the price on the G20 for ZTP is unchanged, yet excludes M Adaptive Suspension, what additional value are we actually getting for ZTP on the G20 that we didn't on the F30? Maybe I am misunderstanding something? |
