2 channel Dash Cam on e93 ???

Has anyone successfully mounted a rear facing dash cam on a E93?

I was thinking to try mounting it right on rear window as normal, yet leaving enough slack in the cable to fold up with the top when it goes down.

Has anyone done this??

If so, which cam did you use? How much slack?

How good are those cameras though? The issue Ive always had with them is that they record too much of the interior of the car and not enough of whats actually out of the rear window.

Bookmarked as I'm looking at options to get a dashcam on my E93 I'm wanting something integrated (to avoid theft of the unit when I'm parked with roof down) so I'm ruling out any "windscreen mounted" dashcams etc.
There have been a few earlier posts that will give you some ideas, try search.

Integrated front cam https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1184659

Integrated rear (reversing) cam https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...versing+camera - and -

I've fitted a few super-cheap (£20) "rear view mirror" recorders (with front & rear cameras) into retro saloons in the past, results are decent but risk of theft might be a concern on E93. The OEM mirror might be too big for this to work but it's something to think about.
Search Ebay etc for ("accident","traffic","dvr") recorder mirror (mirror cams) or Hidden Camera WiFi (integrated wifi cams)
