Finally Chased the Tail of the Dragon

Took a 1,800 mile road trip from Chicago down to North Carolina and back, and couldn't be happier with my M2C!

I'm finding out the M2C is a great grand tourer. We drove down to Nashville after work on Wednesday only stopping for gas once. I wish the tank was bigger, but I guess I can't complain too much. I didn't do any mpg calculations, but I don't think it was great. 5700 miles on the odometer since November! It's so difficult to not drive this thing.

I did scrape under the nose (still need to investigate for any damage) a couple times entering and leaving our AirBnB cabin up in the hills. I am not sure if I was hearing the plastic oil cooler guard or the splitter scrapping.

I drove up the hill on Thursday in the morning when it was still around 32 degrees. There wasn't any traffic besides a couple of bikes going the other way, so thankfully I was never stuck behind anyone. My driving was quite conservative probably, but I wasn't on a track and it was cold still so I didn't really want to push it too hard. Never even broke traction. I guess the old days of wanting to drive 10/10ths on public roads are behind me. I found myself using the torque in lower gears instead of revving it out too much.

Welcome to Tennessee. I live about 45min from the Dragon and make it up there 5-6 times a year after a Sunday morning cars and coffee in Knoxville. Ive burned up many sets of tires up there in the last 20 years.

I know what you mean ("It's so difficult to not drive this thing.") I am retired and don't have to go anywhere, but somehow racked 2,000 miles in 8 week. Now, longing for that first road trip through the mountains! What a beast!!

I agree with not wanting to stop driving this car.

Tail of the Dragon is amazing without traffic. There are so many beautiful roads around there.
