Question *Video* Just changed waterpump/tstat terrible squeal, no water

Just installed new water pump and thermostat. went to burp the system and noticed a loud squeel coming from the pump. its not taking water from the reservoir so after a few minutes of this i pulled the hose off the pumps snout and it was bone dry. Thermostat not opening?
i really hate to tear this thing out again....

Wether thermostat is open or closed pretty sure it should still go through the WP. Is it both dry on the large water pump end and the large T stat end (remove the U shape hose)? Watch out tho it's probably gonna drain your coolant.

The U shaped hose is the one I popped off. I'll get back in there and check the other side now.
