That's an e46. I think that adding a strut brace is redundant, seeing we have standard ones that bolt from teh strut tower to the firewall. The car is already more structurally rigid than the e46. the onlt thing I think this would do (in all but club racers) would be for the eye candy factor.

90% of the things people are doing to their cars here is for looks primarily.

I do agree that most of the things on here are for looks, but isn't there a possibility it would help? My friend and I helped put one on his buddies car, i can't remember what car it was, but it had something similar to what the bmw has standard. When he put the new one on and said it was much better.

I'm not claiming to know a lot since I'm used to modifying off-roaders, so I may be wrong. But from that one experence he said it was much better.

The ACS one looks nice, but looking at the attachment points, I wonder how strong it is. Both would make nice tool holders.

If the point is to make it stiffer why would you make it out of 5 pieces and have each piece attached to the other by a single bolt? It doesn't really make sense to me.

Mulitpiece so the engine/cover is accessible or else the strut tie has to come off completely to work on engine.

Seriously eh? This strut, in my mind, is mostly for show. I'd go for the factory one from BMW.

"All for a reasonable price"???

Almost $500 and free advertising for them with their logo emblazened accross my engine compartment?

Does not fit my idea of "reasonable."
