Best service dealership in San Diego

Please recommend the best SD service dealership and service adviser for M cars.

I live in North County but can go down till BMW of SD. El Cajon is a little too far stretched.

I'm not so happy with my current service experience. Don't want to name or point out anyone but whenever I picked up my car it was either too dusty inside or had some sort of damage (scarped wheels from curb, leather chipped, scratches on steering wheel, center console smudges, scrapes, finger prints, incorrect PSI on tires etc.).

Overall, I always had the feeling that my car is not well taken care off while in their hands.

Thanks!

I did service at Encinitas for my M235i, it's fine to me.

BMW Vista is where I go and I live about 30-40 mins south near the 56 freeway. Brian Chartier is the SA I always go to. He's a fellow enthusiast and is highly recommended on the F8X Bimmerpost forums. I have taken my car there 5 times now for various things and have always left happy. If Brian is not available Braie Young is a good alternative as well

I don't recommend SD. I took in my old M235i for a service and the techs totally abused my car. I know the wear patterns on my tires. When I picked up the car the outer corners of the tires were all scrubbed bright black. I sat outside their service entrance and observed other cars getting unnecessary abuse as well. I've been going to El Cajon they have a BMW enthusiast service foreman. Since they give you a loaner car for free, distance isn't that big of a deal.

I use BMW of El Cajon, service dept is just okay. My car did sustain two minor scratches when in their possession for a week last month. That was really disappointing but I k ow a few of the staff their and they are all enthusiasts. The scratches aren’t so bad that I won’t go back, but I would advise anyone to do a quick video walk around the car with your cell phone before every visit at ANY dealership

That is disapointing to hear. When I take my car in for a service they do an external video of the car themselves. A very fine scratch probably wouldn't show up on a casual video. I think wherever you go there is a risk of small scratches. I hope your scratch comes out with fine polish, otherwise I'd be pissed.

I'll second this. Worked with both and they are fantastic.

Guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I had a terrible experience at BMW of Vista. They damaged my new X5 during the 1st oil change. Still can't believe how they did the damage and what the tech was trying to do. I recommend to avoid this place.

I have been going to BMW of SD for the last 10 years and never had an issue. This is the first time I wanted to try Vista because I live in North County but never again.

I do have the Anthracite poplar dark trim and was able to touch it up and now the damage is unnoticeable. Vista wanted to fix it but I declined their service.

See attached pictures, one has damage and other one is touched up. I'm a huge fan of this trim now because it looks rustic and it is real piece of raw wood. So any damage can be touched up and go unnoticed.

If it's not the free oil change, take it somewhere other than the dealer!

Have you tried BMW of Escondido?
They are not part of Autonation like Vista and Encinitas.

I recently had my rear wheel bearings replaced at BMW of Vista and had a great experience. Sorry to hear your had an issue when you had your car serviced.

I'm going back to BMW of SD. I have never had a single issue with them over the last 10 years.
