Summer tires Texas, year round

Curious if anyone living in a hot-as-balls summer but with a San Antonio-ish winter (40s - 50s for 2 months, very occasional night frost, very very occasional freak snow) has tried keeping summer tires on all year round.

It'd be nice to not have to swap tires for a couple of months.

It was 27F in Dallas this morning, and yet I have summer tires. Fortunately it wasn't snowing, but honestly, I'm not going to bother with separate tires for 3 days a year - I can just work from home if it's crazy outside.

Are you in the Panhandle? I and nobody I know has ever swapped tires in Texas. We all run All Season tires.

haha it's 30°F here right now and I have virtually no traction on my Pirellis so when these are done I'm going to an UHP AS tire

Is there a legit reason why these even come with summer tires? These are giant 5000 lb family SUVs.

Is it just marketing?

The new tech in All-Season tires has (IMO) eliminated the need for Summers, at least where SUV/SAVs are concerned. I put on new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ couple months ago, and they are fantastic.
Z rated, AA traction, A Temp. and 500 treadwear. Bought based upon high ratings on Tirerack and others. Around $1,200 installed.
