Alarm going off right after I lock the doors

Hello, my alarm homegirls off randomly a few moments after I lock the car. Doesn't happen all the time but it's the 3rd time it happens within a week.

Any ideas?

Does it happen with both keyfobs? You could try replacing your keyfob battery as it might be low.

It happened with my regular key fob and the rechargeable display key at full charge.

Electronic gremlins? Some wired device that draws constant power?

I do have a dash cam wired to the fuse box! But it's been over 2 month I have it and it never did this.

Do you by chance have some sort of device plugged into your obd 2 port? I’ve heard in the past devices plugged in there will trigger the alarm.

Maybe a quick experiment of disconnecting it and see if it makes a difference?

Also agree the suggestion to check the OBD port...

My does it when I leave it running and try to lock the doors.

And, it did it once when I left the Beemercode obd connected and tried to lock the doors...but, that was the alarm, not the horn.

I think it has something to do with your jb4. Do some research on it but I think I remover a few years ago reading about this. I’m almost certain the tuner has a fix for this. I believe it can be coded out.

I deactivated the JB4 passive CEL delete for the downpipe and the alarm stops getting triggered.

I'm not understanding most of this - but I just put an insurance company tracker device in the obd2 port on my car. Is that's what's causing the alarm to go off when I lock it (when I re-lock it, the problem goes away) ? Is there something I can do besides wait 90 days until I get rid of the thing ?

This can cause your alarm to go off. This is a known issue with newer BMWs

I left the OBD MX in mine one time and as soon as I locked it, the alarm went off.

It could be a security measure to prevent theft using the OBD port.

It has to do with the Ethernet communication. The communication is disrupted when the vehicle is locked and it keeps it awake thus setting off the alarm.
