PPF Installers - North Dallas Area

Considering PPF for my new LBB M2C when it arrives in a few weeks. So far I've made contact with just two installers; Drive Auto Appearance (Plano) and Forcefield Paint Shield (Lewisville). Both are within $100 of each other for the same coverage:
  • Full hood
  • Full front bumper
  • Full Fenders
  • Mirror caps
  • A-pillars & 1/4 roof install (panel surface between windshield and sunroof)
  • Door edges & door cups
  • Rear bumper luggage intake area
I will most likely add the rear quarters just because I think if you're going to do it, that area will suffer most, so don't cheap out.

Drive uses Llumar Platinum and Forcefield uses XPEL Ultimate. Both offer 10 year warranties. Any comments on XPEL vs Llumar? Both appear to be well respected and reviewed online.

Any other installers I should consider?

Tintworld in the colony. My friend Jeff owns the place, he did my 17 M2 in 2016 and has done a few M2C's. When my M2C gets here it will go there for XPEL as well.

Does he use pre-cut pieces or fit them on the vehicle to reduce the appearance of edge lines? It's been stated that Forcefield hides them around edges where applicable.

Your info is correct.

My first M2 was done at Forcefield and it was entirely seamless, very professional job. I ended up going to TintWorld with the Comp and they use pre-cut sections, which creates a more obvious seem or uncovered area. They are priced similar as well.

If I had to do it again, I'd go back to Forcefield. That said, TintWorld WAS a great experience, fairly priced and was able to get tint done at the some time (I am not sure if Forcefield is doing tint, although his first tint install was the Xpel film on my older car).

Yes they use the XPEL precut pieces. It's funny they had the template before the car even hit the US shores. I would prefer if the edges were wrapped but it honestly doesn't matter that much to me.

Both of the vendors I mentioned say that they do roll edges to hide them. That's a plus for me. I'm torn on the A-pillars and 1/4 roof. With no sunroof in my car, I'm sure I would hate a partial wrap there. I checked my current 335i and I have zero nicks in those two areas. I'm feeling like skipping that area in favor of a bigger chunk of the rear fenders.

I did a-pillars, glad I did it after my last car... TintWorld tossed them in for 'free', so that was a no brainer. It's a pretty simple place to wrap, and isn't too noticeable where it ends.

Does anyone here have any experience with Tritek in Garland? I have seen a lot of good reviews with them.
