Just pulled the trigger - M40i

Just today ordered a M40i in St Louis.

Phytonic, Cognac, Premium and Executive and Driving Assistance Packages, 21 in wheels, M adaptive suspension, HK stereo, acoustic glass, wireless charging and the hitch so I can haul my road and mountain bikes.

Trading in a 2011 E92 M3 competition. Surely will take some getting used to.

Thanks for all the help so far from this forum.

Welcome to the X3 family. You are the latest in the long line of M cars owners converting to a vehicle that's way more practical when needed, but still offers plenty of driving excitement when desired.

I certainly can feel that on the test drive. I just won't be able to take it to the track and scare the 911 turbo owners!

I was told yesterday that if you order an X3 with the hatch equipped that the driver assist features don't work. Specifically lane keep assist is permanently disabled and radar cruise are permanently disabled.

Also a biker, M40i is on the list but want to be able to use those features, certainly don't want to pay for them to have them permanently disabled.

do you mean "hitch equipped"? your information is false on both accounts regarding the driver assist features when having the "hitch" options for trailers and racks.

op, congrats! you're going to love this car.

Congrats. You are going to love it. I got the M40i for a family vehicle that I wouldn’t hate to drive when we go out on the weekends or vacations. I find myself actually loving it, and can’t drive it enough. I’ve never been so excited to drive 1500 miles on a family vacation coming up. This thing is way more fun than it should be.

Good to know, I thought it sounded weird. Might disabled those features with a trailer on the hitch but with just the hitch installed it seemed odd. They were insistent though, that they had an M40i traded in with 2,000 miles on it because the feature was permanently disabled when you added the hitch option.

I'd hope that just putting on a bike rack wouldn't disable the radar cruise and the lanekeep assist.

I know the hitch negates the foot activated rear opening. But I don't think it changes the drivers assist functions.

You won't have ANY "getting used to".......the M40i will satisfy you so much that you will forget about your E92 in 3 days or less....lol It's THAT good of an engineering marvel.

Welcome and enjoy!!!!

The X3 is at the dealership today per the website. Today is 16 days after I ordered it. I wonder if they will call me tomorrow to arrange pickup?

Wow, that's really fast. You should call your SA or Genius to confirm.

Just picked the car up tonight. I'll get pics tomorrow on here. But really fast. At the dealer in 16 days after order. Then in my hands 3 days later. Could have been faster but salesman was on business trip to Hong Kong.
