It's sad to say goodbye to our E90

It's very sad to say goodbye to our reliable and loved E90, it was my car at first and then my son's car, today she saved my 2 kids' life ! They were hitted by a truck that was running a red light and all the airbags exploded, the majority of the suspension is broken and even a rear wheel disintegrated, but thanks to the well built car they are alive. This is the second time a BMW saves the life of one of my family members.

Glad to hear the car did it's job and kept the kiddos safe... truck did a number on it, would have been worse in a different car

Glad your kids were not hurt. Scared I bet. Could you describe the accident. When you say truck, what type/size of truck was it? It looks like the truck hit the right rear door at the rear door jamb, which is the ideal spot, as it is far stronger structurally than the door. Then it looks like the E90 slid across the intersection and the left side hit curbing, which broke the suspension.

Where were the passengers sitting? I'll assume you son was driving and the other child was in the front passenger seat. Again, thank God your kids weren't hurt.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Well my son was driving on a loop and when crossing the intersection on IH35 and Loop 20 a 2012 F150 hauling a boat just hitted on the rear driver's door where my little daughter was riding, the ford truck just sent my son's car spinning and finally the car bump over the sidewalk, at that time all the side airbags were already deployed protecting my son in the front and my daughter in the back of the car, the airbag itself helped the window glass to stay away from daughter's face ! Thanks to God and to this reliable E90 they are alive !

Glad to see the E90 lived up to its original praises this model received and everyone is safe. The reputation of the E90 is what brought me to the brand. This car is really well thought out despite some of the silly issues we all tend to have to deal with from time to time. Despite that, when I look at similar cars from other makes, there isn't really much question what I want to be driving at the end of the day.
