AC Schnitzer Style Splitters Fitted
As some of you know, I took the plunge on some AC Schnitzer style corner splitters from China, I was taking a bit of a risk on whether they'd be any good and I'm happy to report they're really decent!
I bought them from here: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F163285135303 They are a bit fiddly to fit, but I have previously fitted the full M Performance kit to my F30 so I have had a bit of experience with this kind of thing. The best way I found was to line it up and mark one of the screw holes then drill it and screw the splitter to the bumper before marking the other two screw holes and drilling them, then peel the backing film off and do all three screws up loosely before tightening them up, then push the splitter against the bumper for a minute or so for the tape to stick. Obviously clean the bumper with alcohol first, and if it's not a hot summer day then heat up the tape with a heat gun or hair dryer before sticking it. Oh and two of the screws on each splitter were too long so I had to use some shorter ones. I'm really happy with the look, they give a more aggressive sporty look without looking too much, and the gloss black ties in nicely with the MP grilles and other gloss black bumper parts. Anyway, here's the pics, let me know what you think. Last edited by teaston; 10-26-2019 at 04:17 AM.. |

Looks great,
How’s the fitment? Would you mind posting a closeup shot as well as one of the underside where they mount? Mine should shipped in the next day or so as they just received a shipment. Thanks! Ron.

Nice.
Guess clearance isn't really a consideration compared to a splitter on an F30, F20 etc?

thanks for the pics.
Yes I ordered from the same supplier. Tried a couple of weeks ago but they were out of stock...offered a carbon fiber look pair but I’m not really into carbon especially fake carbon. So I just waited, should ship out soon. You car looks great! Appreciate it

Yeah I avoid cheap carbon bits as they all go milky and bubbly after a while, much safer with gloss black. These do actually having a bit of metal flake in them, it’s only visible close up in bright light though. |

Beware, I clicked on the link and the computer went into a tizzy-fit and crashed with all the pop-ups.
Oddly, it is an EBay site. But, who knows what was going on when I clicked the 2nd picture. The OP was not at fault. I think there is a spam trap on one of the pics on the advert? (I tried twice just to be sure it was not something else). Weird. Paul Last edited by Jeepersjoey; 02-17-2019 at 07:36 AM.. |

Hi teaston!
Looks great....well done! I would like to install too but the splitters seems quite big (for me) so I've a couple of question: How many km/h have you lost at the max speed? How is the handling at high speed? Thx, Daniele |
