Jan'19 U.S. sales figure
Based on goodcarbadcar.net
http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2019/02...-january-2019/ GLC: 4908 (38.6% more than X3/X4) Q5: 4340 (22.5% more than X3/X4) X3/X4: 3541 That's a quite big gap. What could be the reason? Is it because of heavy discount that manufacturers gave to GLC/Q5? |

Could be price. TBH, if it wasn't for wife I'd probably be driving an SQ5 right now. My wife absolutely hates the looks and completely took it off the table when we were car shopping. Not that I'm unhappy with the X3, because I do love it.

I loved the SQ5 when I first saw one a few years ago, when they had the awesome looking quad exhaust tips. The current model has the most disgusting fake exhaust that I did not even test drive one when I was car shopping my X3.

Well,
If buying 2L, I would take Q5 over X3 But for 6 poppers, I choose X3 M40i over SQ5 |

I don't mind drivin something you don't see at every corner. Ok, an X3 is by no means rare but haven't seen a single M40i yet where I live. And X5 seems way more common than X3. Q5 looks nice but very boring in my opinion. GLC 43 looks good but still don't like the interior design of the dash in the 2019. Also, inline 6 a gem and unique. When it comes to X3M, I'd go GLC 63 though.

GCL tech looks 5 years old to me.. and I didn't like it then. Never cared for MB External styling.. though is getting better
Audi interior is excellent, love the active cluster. Exterior smooth but uninspiring. Too many problems with previous Audi to consider. X3 - Love the angry posture. Love the tech. Powerful I-6 makes me jizz myself - that's before I got 29MPG. Driving dynamics are awesome. Not as posh as others perhaps, but I like the seats.. and posh = heavy. I saw someone refer to the M40i as the Rabbit GTI of the SUV's and I think that was aptly put. I love my M40i. I have two friends with '19 X5's well appointed. Yes, they are more polished and plush inside. yes, active dash is better. I much, much prefer the drive of the X3 M40i.

Update total sales -
X3 2017 - 40,691 2018 - 61,351 (50%+ increase) Q5 2017 - 57,640 2018 - 69,978 (20%+ increase) So long story short does January matter? Nope, BMW started lower anyway and is growing faster... so ... answer your concern? |

Sometimes friends ask me for recommendations on small SUVs (hottest segment these days), so I am trying to have latest information myself, to be able to provide objective statements. |

They must be selling around here, I saw three G01's yesterday in a round trip to the airport. (2) X-Lines and an M40i. All three had the lower trunk badging.

I rarely see G01 X3s, and even more rare to see M40is. I think I've seen 2 other M40is and this includes across multiple states and a 3,900 mile road trip. I like having a unique vehicle. Ironically, once I moved into my current house, after only seeing a handful of G01 X3s, there was one parked two doors down. M Sport, 20" wheels and carbon black....I was kinda mad, but I was also kinda happy that they might be my sorta people. Turns out it was just a loaner while their X1 was in the shop.
