AutoX setup suggestions?

Taking M2C out for it's first autox. Novice level. Manual tranny. Not an entire newbie to autoX.

Any suggestions around engine/dsc settings; tire pressures; which gears to use; tire preservation etc? Anything else that is useful to consider?

If your a new auto X driver add more PSI to your fronts. try 37F/33R to start.

Turn off your nannies...DSC etc.

Launch the car conservatively, and try to look at least 2 to 3 elements ahead.

Easy in fast out (new drivers over drive the slow stuff and under drive the fast stuff)

Make sure to go on a novice course walk (if available) and walk the course as many times as you can. Try to find the "PAIN" locations on the course that will bite you if never knew they were there.

last have fun!

I was new to autocross this past summer. First couple events I ran with mdm mode (one press of traction control button). It was very limiting but I thought I should be taking it easy on first couple events, it was intrusive enough to be annoying. After the first two events I went full off (long press to totally shut it off). Car was way better and allowed me to explor traction limits of 285 pss rears. (Soon to switch to dedicated re71r’s).
Also I’m dct and I ran first two events in auto. Now I always run manually shifting with most of the run in 2nd and only shifting to third for a couple of the faster sections if I bounce off rev limiter. With a manual box, you should get most of the run in second (maybe occasionally needing third, depending on course layout).
