Heavier Clutch after 5k Miles?
My 325i's clutch feels heavier now than when I first got it. Also, I used to shift perfectly smooth, now I am a little "jerky."
Has any one experienced the same thing, or am I just finally used to the clutch in the BMW? The gears don't slip at all and the engagement point feels the same, but I can't help but wonder if I am wearing something out. I don't think it is break-in related, because I have 5000 miles on the car and the clutch feel has changed just recently. -selm |

Actually, now that you mention it, I do feel that the clutch got a little bit heavier, but now I think that it feels like a normal clutch should. When I first got the car, it was abnormally light. I just hit 6,000 on mine. No issues with the shifter though, and imo I think that it is too smooth. I have driven a couple dozen manual cars...from nissan sentra's ser-V, vette's, 911,M3, caddy cts-V to mustang cobras and camaro SS, vw gli, and pontiac GTOs. The best cars have this heavy rifle bolt click and feel to them...the feeling that I wish BMW's had. By the way, the best was the porsche 911 and surprisingly the caddy cts-V (i know).
