It is not. It's sometimes tough to get an allocation but it's limited more by manufacturing capacity rather than some sort of artificial ceiling.

I was told around 700-800 units per year for North America, so not rare unless they cut production abruptly in the first year like a certain cousin of the M2C.

Hmm, based on the 2017-2018 (2016 was a shorter run) there were about 2780 M2's in 2017 and 3495 cars in 2018 between the US and CA. The 700-800 seems a tad low. Source?

I do think MY19 was a lower production year though, similar to MY2016.

Runner up is F90 M5 7823 units were sold!
