problem is, this will not happen earlier than probably nov 2019 at that point my car is going to be 1 year old.

If history holds true, it'll be announced in June, public beta soon after, and shipping early September. Not ideal for sure, but honestly the BMW integration works just fine and the NAV is good enough to not need Google Maps. Only thing I'm missing is the native BMW Spotify app.
