240i XDrive Convertible not shifting into gear

Hi all!

My wife and I bought a 2019 240i XDrive Convertible two weeks ago and it already happened a few times that we get into the car in the morning, start the engine, put it into gear ... and nothing happens! After trying for a few minutes (both in D and R), it finally shifts into gear.

Is that related to the cold, the doors not being closed properly, or are there any other safety features that prevents the car from driving?

One simple possible problem: if you are not pressing HARD on the brake and holding the button on the side of the lever at the same time, it won't go into gear.
It took me a while to get used to that and four years later I still miss occasionally, especially in the morning.
That said, if the problem does not go away, off to the dealer with it.
