What's the lowest temp you have seen on your car?

I park my car in a heated deck and the temperature is typically 60 degrees today it was 30. I drove out of the deck on to the street and in a matter of 15 seconds the dash temp fell down to -11. It tapped out at -21.

i was on the highway last january headed back to chicago, and the temps were -8 F. At 70 mph, the engine struggled to maintain 200*F.

This was in my Golf R a couple years ago. First off, my phone name is D, I assure you the car was a manual.

Secondly, I was going to get gas when I saw this temp and had just pulled out of my heated garage (45 or so degrees) about 10 minutes before taking this shot. Given my garage was heated, the car was warm, etc... I had a very large jacket on, but I didn't have gloves on. I hopped out and grabbed the gas pump bare handed and...... the deep cold of the metal burned my hand within about 2 seconds. Yeah I'm an idiot.

Tack on wind chill and it was pretty cold that evening.

I have only seen -0, but I am consistently entertained that they choose to tack on the negative when it's 0 lol.

Got a pic of the temp today. And it went colder yet, but I didn't bother to try again.

I can only imagine trying to get a car started if parked outside in these frigid temps. Yikes! Grew up in northern IL and the coldest was -28F without the wind chill back in 1984. I’m glad I don’t remember what that cold felt like. Lol! Unreal!

-13°F was the coldest I saw in my F36 in Anchorage over two years. Hasn't been anywhere near that cold this year.

I saw -41c last Wednesday in Saskatchewan early in the morning. Tried to take a pic of the dash while driving but flash was on and pic didn't turn out but I assure you all hell had frozen over it was probably more like -55c with the wind chill.
The difference between -25c and -40c as far as how a car reacts is pretty incredible! I drove 250km to a work meeting that morning all highway and the car felt like a brick skidding down the road the tires, suspension bushings and shocks/struts just do not operate as intended in that type of severe cold. Brake fluid also acts much different in severe cold and made the pedal very very touchy.

Also, driving on the highway the damn thing never heats up, you need to block off some of the intake somehow.

-40 on my drive to work this morning. I was waiting to post until I had a temperature that I didn't have to convert to Fahrenheit for the Americans
