Bug or Easter Egg? You can get 436M Orbit Grey wheels on the 2019 M240i xDrive

On the bmwusa.com configurator you can get the 436M Orbit Grey wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport non run-flats if you choose the M240i xDrive Coupe and then look at the default wheels in the picture of the vehicle before you go the Wheel section and pick a wheel. Once you pick a different wheel on the Wheels section, you cannot de-select it to go back to the 436M but you can start the configurator over again and see that the 436M wheel is the default.

When I ordered my car, I chose a 719M wheel and gave our build code to our SA. Somehow, the wheels didn't get selected on our order and the factory built our car with the default wheel. Our dealership is going to order the right wheels for us, and they gave us an additional $1,000 discount on the car for the inconvenience.

Just wanted to let you all know about this bug (or Easter Egg depending on how you look at it), and advise you that it's real and it is definitely possible to get the 436M wheels in this manner, whether you want them or not!

Nice looking. I have the Ferric Grey and it's not quite as dark, but oh well...

The 719m are considered part of the latest lci visual update for the f22 m240i. The 436m are designated for the 2014-2017 models. Unless you are getting a rebate, I don't know why u would pick em unless it's your preference. I have a 2015 with the 436m,while they're not ugly by any means, I prefer the 719ms and have swapped mine out to vmrs since.

That may be the case in Australia, but other markets get different wheel and tyre combinations. For 2019 in Canada there are 6 different standard wheel/tyre combinations that can be picked from with a choice of 719M Bi-Colour, 436M Orbit Grey and 719M Jet Black, each with either summer performance tyres or all-season tyres available.

I agree. My order was supposed to include the 719M wheels, so I was quite surprised to see the 436M wheels on the car when I went to the dealer to complete the purchase. They offered a $1,000 concession, which I accepted, and later agreed to just go ahead and get the right wheels since it was some type of ordering system error.

I was able to replicate the issue on the online configurator by not choosing a wheel (you can actually see that the 436M shows up on the car in the configurator), so I decided to share that information here.

I agree. I just run winter tires on the Orbit grey 436 and only do around 1500 miles a winter, but I'd trade them for the 719 in black in a heartbeat.
