Anyone thinking about wheel spacers for their G05?

I'm thinking about getting spacers in the spring when the 22" wheels go back on. Anyone done this yet? Thinking about it?

Nope. I’m staying stock. I’m boring though.

I’d think about it if I wanted wheels that don’t fit otherwise, but not just for appearance sake.

Do you think the car will handle better or are you going for the look?

Wheel spacer had been very popular in F15/F16 X5/X6 and F85/F86 X5M/X6M community.
I would love to be able to figure out the best wheel spacer setup for G05.
So, if anyone in Los Angeles area don't mind letting me borrowing the car.

I am holding myself back as much as I can, since I am waiting on F95 X5M. I hope I don't fail myself. Lol.
So tempting to go and sign that paper for G05.

You don’t see many using spacers any more in higher end autos. They kinda died off to the many negative compromises. Most just do entire custom wheels now.

I got over 100+ customers in F85 X5M alone who bought spacers from me.
Why do you think custom wheel is any better than spacer?

AC Schnitzer, Brabus, TechArt, and even stock Porsche are uses spacers.

And custom wheels is mimicking a stock wheel with spacer since it will be cut wider and different offset to push the wheel closer to the fender.

Back to the OP's question: What is max spacer possible? I'm interested because I have a set of F15 wheels and non run flats I could put on with 25mm thick adapters when I replace my F15. Looks like the max thickness for the X3 is 15mm. Wonder what the max thickness for G05 is?

I have yet to have a car in to do some testing.
So, if anyone with G05 and local to me. I'll work something out.

.
One issue is voiding factory warranty. It’s a gray area but a dealer can easily make it a huge issue if you have any wheel bearing issues.
Porsche dealers have done this in the past by stating spacers are changing the geometry and many have chosen not to roll the dice with wheel spacers. This doesn’t mean it will happen to everyone but (full disclosure) it has happened in the past. Right or wrong, it is what it is.

True that it is grey area.
FYI though, Porsche offers wheels spacer.
My 997 C4S built with 5mm spacers all around. OEM Porsche spacer and I believe it was manufactured by H&R.

Doing custom wheels where it change the width and offset from stock setup, behaving exactly the same as wheel spacer.

At the end of the day, it comes down to, if you are not comfortable, don't mod.

Even with aftermarket USB power adapter, you are in risk of voiding your warranty. Because it may cause electrical issues.
Corporate tries to upharge you for something that you can buy aftermarket at fraction the price with a warranty scare tactics.
Sometime it may be true, most of the time, they are just trying to dig deeper to your pocket.

Absolutely, it’s crazy. We had a guy in our PCA club a few years back that had a dealer deny his factory warranty work for a drivetrain issue because of wheel spacers. Porsche play the “modification altering factory specifications“ card.
Totally ridiculous but he ended up paying it and now using an Indie. This is the manufactures way to getting you to only use their OEM parts.
Some dealers are cool about it and I would at least feel them out with a few questions first.

Agreed. That is total BS.
Drivetrain issue to a wheel spacer, that is out of relation.
I think the manufacturers also trying to get away by using cheaper quality parts now.
I have seen F15 with bad wheel bearing or other suspension components in stock form.

Will you be selling extended bolts with the spacers?

Of course, otherwise you won't be able to mount the wheels properly.

Just for looks. The 22" wheels with 315mm wide tires look great. Just thought a spacer making it a bit more aggressive would look great. Nothing ridiculous just a few mm.

Great. I don't have to worry about you going overboard like this guy! There is a limit to the whole more-is-better approach.
