Any idea what this could be from? Doesn't look like a door ding or high speed debris. There's lot of chalky residue, 2 areas of impact, and its pretty deep. Just like some one walked by and threw something jagged at it.

Wasn't there on tuesday, it stayed in the garage yesterday except when i took it out to play some basketball, but I could see the car the entire time. Left my car this morning and found this.

Dunno.... anyways, any ideas on fixes?

looks like someone threw metal at it. very odd. can't tell how deep it is from the pic. take it to a body shop...this isn't going to be something that touch up paint can fix. bummer man.

I was gonna go straight to BMW and see what they would charge. I know they will charge me much more than a body shop, but it should be worth the extra money right? I'm assuming BMW will do a much better job.

not necessarily coz bmw takes it to local shops, whoever's not too busy. might not even match 100% either. dont count on dealers too much. touch up paint then buff it out and it'll be good

those u get from dealer. im not 100% sure of the process but if u search here or on E90post u'll find how to do it. u get it from dealer, u use a toothpick to apply paint, then a buffer of some sort to brush it out

Long Beach BMW outsources to a body shop, South Bay BMW will so small touch ups on the spot, outsources the rest if its too deep and won't sell the touch up paint.

Went to my body shop and he mixed up some AW3 touch up paint and sealed the area so it won't rust. I didn't want to get my whole hood sprayed right now. When I get more scratches then I will do it. It's hard to tell where the scratch is now if you don't know where it is. I'm the only one that can see it. It blends in pretty well for now.
